Fundraising

If your golf outing is trying to raise funds for a charity, here a few tips to make your fundraiser successful:

Price:

Charity outings at Oakhaven Golf Club charge between $60 and $200 per player. Even at the low end, Oakhaven’s low package prices allow you to make a profitable margin for your charity fundraiser! At the high end, be sure to provide a steak dinner and giveaways such as logo golf balls, shirts, and/or hats.

Mulligans:

Sell mulligans before the round during registration. a ‘mulligan’ is an opportunity for a player to re-play a bad shot. Typically, mulligans are $5 each or $20 for five. Limit the total number of mulligans per team to five if sold to the team or 20 if sold to the individual or the round may take too long.

Silent Auction:

Collect prizes up front and display them during registration and during the meal. If all prizes are donated, this is a great method of generating revenue with no up front cost.

Use our vendors to provide quality giveaways that your guest will value. That’s why we suggest co-branding with Titleist, Adidas, Nike, Foot-Joy and the other standout brands in golf. A token giveaway from these will leave a lasting impression on your guests!

Hole Sponsors:

Sell sponsorships for all 18 holes, the bev cart, and dinner. Feel free to have two sponsors per hole. Oakhaven can print the signs for prides starting at $16 and up for each sign and you can charge your sponsors anywhere from $50 to $200 per sign. For larger sponsorship levels ($500-$1000), include a free entry for four in the golf outing.

50:50 Raffle:

Everyone is familiar with this one… the key is to have people continue to sell tickets during the golf round. Your players are a captive audience for 5 hours, and usually as the round progresses they will spend more easily on the raffle. Sometimes the winner will even donate the winnings back!

Games:

Run a putting contest in the “warm-up” hour prior to the round and charge $5 to $10 per person. Run a Money Hole on a par 3 where players can double their money for hitting the green or a smaller target. Run a Skins contest for $20 per team (This generally benefits the golfers but makes the round more competitive). Oakhaven’s staff will explain these and many other ideas! Remember, we do this every day and are here as your resource.
